RNO, ZOA Procedure Updates

The following procedures have been updated and require you to acknowledge the changes:

  • RNO ATCT SOP (required review for Mountainous Terrain Endorsement holders)
  • ZOA SOP Appendices (required review for Enroute Endorsement holders)


RNO SOP Changes Summary

  • Fix departure sector for ALPYN# departure (now correctly Silver to match NCT SOP)
  • Fix initial altitudes in IFR departures table (10000 for FMG# DP, FL190 for WAGGE#/RENO#)
  • Update runway 08 to be unavailable for IFR departures
  • Update VFR departure procedures (now runway heading for all departures)
  • Clarify RNO ATCT radar responsibilities
    • RNO radar identifies all VFR departures and hands off to NCT but does not advise them of radar contact
    • RNO responsible for sequencing downwind VFR entries, NCT responsible for straight-in and base leg VFR entries


ZOA Appendices Key Points

This list below is incomplete, and all the routings shall be reviewed prior to working one of these sectors during an event

  • Change FAT Runway 11 routes to use ISESY instead of NTELL
  • Include required routings from Pac North to Area North for Bay Area airports (no notable operational changes, previously unlisted)

Note that per ZOA CPS-001 4.1.2.2 if you do not acknowledge notification of changes to procedures for positions you're certified for within 2 months of today, you will be considered inactive.
