Oakland ARTCC on Vatsim (“Oakland ARTCC”) operates oakartcc.org and may operate other sub websites. It is Oakland ARTCC’s policy to respect your privacy regarding any information we may collect while operating our websites.
Like most website operators, Oakland ARTCC collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Oakland ARTCC’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how Oakland ARTCC’s visitors use its website. From time to time, Oakland ARTCC may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its website.

Information is gather by either (i) data received from VATSIM/VATUSA servers when choosing to joining Oakland ARTCC or (ii) by filling out the Visiting Controller request form located on oakartcc.org. The information gathered is required in order to identify the user and their Vatsim account, keep training records, and assign position certifications.
From May 25th 2018, you will be able to use our Contact page to submit a ‘Right to be Forgotten’ request. Exercising this request as an Oakland ARTCC member will result in your termination from the ARTCC, the account will be completely deleted from the server, and you will lose of all account data including training information. The request will be forwarded to VATUSA and Vatsim which may potentially result in removal of your Vatsim and VATUSA account. We will comply with the right to be forgotten within the legal time frame.
Oakland ARTCC may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors
to its websites via Google Analytics. Oakland ARTCC may display this information publicly or
provide it to others. However, Oakland ARTCC does not disclose

Oakland ARTCC discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its staff and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Oakland ARTCC’s behalf or to provide services available at Oakland ARTCC’s websites, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those staff members and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using Oakland ARTCC’s websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them.
